World Snake Day. Herpetologist went out into the night looking for snake, finds one in his hotel bed

Talk about room service.

Evolutionary biologist Jules Farquhar went out looking for snakes over a long night in the MacDonnell Ranges National Park in Central Australia.

When he came back to his hotel room at the Glen Helen Lodge, he found that staff had helpfully captured the local Bredl’s Python.

They put it in a bag for Farghuhar to photograph and had a helpful map on where to release it.

Apparently he just missed the snake by a minute.
