Ten times animals including pigs, dolphins and of course dogs, saved humans

A new top ten list out has compiled the many times in recent years critters saved humans.

Check out the video below. But here are some that were selected in their top ten list.

Todd Endris saved by dolphins

California surer Todd Endris lived to tell the tale of his encounter with a great white shark. In Surfing Magazine, Endris of Santa Clara described what happened.

You know the funny thing, bro, is that the only thing that was awkward is there were dolphins really close to us the whole time we were out there. They were swimming around us and swimming in front of and underneath us in a couple feet of water. And after I got hit – apparently from what the other guys said – is the dolphin all swarmed around behind me as if they were protecting me.

The interviewer asked:

That’s what I hear. That’s a first. I’ve never heard that one before. So you didn’t sense anything weird in the dolphin behavior?

Endris’ answer:

No, no because there’s so much sea life up there. There’s always dolphin but I didn’t think anything of it. I thought they were just being playful you know, like normal.

Intervewer:

But dolphin swimming underneath you is a little weird, isn’t it? They usually don’t get that close.

Endris:

Oh yeah sure. Here they have no fear, they catch waves right in front of you and surf underneath you. It’s not that big a thing. I didn’t think anything of it

Free diver saved by a beluga whale

To get a job training whales, Yang Yun had to compete in a free-dive competition in China as one of seven finalists.

They had to do all their diving without any help from diving gear.

Yang was in the icy waters when she ran out of breath. When she prepared to resurface, she was stopped by leg cramps that immobilized her. That’s when Mia stepped in and helped out.

Angel the dog saves boy from cougar

Austin Foreman, 11, thought it was odd that his golden retriever Angel was acting so strange when he went outside of his Boston Bar, British Columbia home to pick up firewood.

Foreman noted Angel was pacing and following next to him closely. Then Angel leaped into action when a cougar charged at the boy.

Angel put herself between the cougar and Foreman and the boy was able to run for help. By the time conservation officers arrived, the cougar had Angel by the neck and was chewing and gnawing at the dog. The cougar was killed. Angel was rushed to the vet and survived after suffering puncture wounds on her head, neck and one of her hind legs.

Foreman escaped any injuries and the boy said he now feels very differently about Angel.

“She was my best friend, but now she’s more than a best friend — she’s like my guardian now.”

Also included in the list was the man who was saved by sea lions after jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge in a suicide attempt, the pig who got help for her owner after he had a heart attack and the parrot who jumped into action when a toddler began choking.
