Speeding pigeon captured on a traffic camera in Germany

The speed limit is 30 kilometres per hour in Bocholt, Germany, but this speed demon was caught flying down the road at 45.

The so-called “speeder pigeon” was actually nabbed on a motion activated camera back in February.

Yes, actual pigeon.

But the northwestern German city, located near the border with the Netherlands, only recently posted about the unusual incident on its Facebook page.

The city said the bird was headed on a “collision course” with other vehicles and pedestrians even within the 3 km/h grace it gives to speeders.

“Whether and, above all, how the fast bird can and wants to pay the €25 warning fee remains open,” the city added.

And whether this was a racing or carrier pigeon is also unclear.
