Nabisco’s Animal Crackers are uncaged after PETA protests

For more than a century, Nabisco’s Barnum’s Animals crackers have been sold in boxes that depict lions, gorillas, elephants, and other animals caged in a circus boxcar.

But animal rights organization PETA thinks even though its imaginary animals the message it sends is wrong. PETA lobbied Nabisco to change it designs and even sent in suggestions for new designs.

Nabisco took the suggestions seriously and has unveiled a new box for for Barnum’s Animals that reflects a society that no longer tolerates caging and chaining exotic animals for circus shows.
