Moose trapped on bridge saved by B.C. conservation officers

A young moose needed a helping hand — and bobcat — to get off a snowy bridge.

The British Columbia Conservation Officer Service said it helped rescued a moose cow, which was struggling with its hind legs stuck through a bridge near Peachland.

The animal had fallen through the slats and had become hopelessly stuck.

There seemed to be little the animal was able to do to save itself.

That’s when wildlife officers and a local landscaping company stepped in.

“CO’s tranquilized the moose,” provincial officials explained in a  Twitter post Monday night.

Sunny Slope Landscaping brought in a bobcat loader and two slings to lift the moose off the bridge and to safety.

The moose was then set loose in the wild — where hopefully it will steer clear of any bridges.

One very lucky moose. BCCOS/Twitter
