“Monster” 15-foot, 800-pound alligator killed in Florida

Outwest Farms in Okeechobee, Florida have posted an out-of-this-world photo of a giant alligator.

“Lee Lightsey and I had the pleasure of doing a guided gator hunt this morning and killed the largest gator we have ever killed in the wild!!” the outfitter wrote in a Facebook on April 2. “He measured out at just under 15 foot!! Congratulations to Chris and Derek on their monster!!!”

Lightsey, who owns the farm, and hunting guide, Blake Godwin, said the 800-pound gator had been dining on cattle, according to CBS 12 News.

According to Fox  13, they plan to donate the meat to charity. Then, the animal will be taken to a taxidermist, which should help dispel questions around the veracity of the photos.

Godwin insists there was no photoshopping; just a couple of images taken on cell phones and uploaded to Facebook.

“It is hard to believe that something this big exists in the wild,” he told the station. “Hunting is a way of life for us and we are very proud of it.”

But the outfitting company has been taking some heat from animal lovers for hunting down the creature. Godwin has now shot back on Facebook.

I have never seen so many uneducated, ignorant, liberal, tree hugging idiots in my entire life!!! If you don’t like…
