Meet Manuka: a “white” black bear at the Calgary Zoo

Well, that didn’t take long and the choice is sweet. Manuka, which is a type of honey, has been selected as the name for the Calgary Zoo‘s new “white” black bear.

More than 4,000 people voted among five potential names, and almost 1,800 selected Manuka. We told you recently about the bear’s arrival and naming contest. The other name options were Ktunaxa, Uki, Nupqu and Malia.
