It was the day innocence died for thousands of viewers of Blue Planet.
As host Liz Bonnin was talking about baby turtles and their plight to survive, a seagull swooped down and snatched up a baby turtle eating it live on air.

Viewers were shooked!
ITV’s Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid tweeted: “Blue Planet Live releases baby turtles on the beach. Seagull steals one for dinner.”
I’m interested in one thing and one thing only: bent seagulls. pic.twitter.com/NFV7cXk9io

Finally got my mum to watch Blue Planet Live, only for a seagull to swoop down and eat a baby turtle they were releasing. She is now beside herself and will not speak to me. pic.twitter.com/sLu2q7FG27
