Leopard drags and kills toddler in Uganda National Park

The two-year-old son of a game ranger was attacked and dragged away by a leopard then killed and eaten in a shocking incident in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park.

A spokesman for the Uganda Wildlife Authority said the two-year-old boy was attacked Friday evening while following the nanny to the kitchen.

The nanny heard the child scream and saw the animal dragging the boy to the bush.

A search team found the boy’s skill and other remains later. The boy has since been buried.

The incident has shocked many in Uganda, where leopard attacks on humans are rare.

Leopard attacks on children are sometimes reported in parts of rural India.

The Uganda leopard is now being hunted because officials are concerned that because it has hunted and tasted human flesh, the temptation is high to hunt more humans.
