Headless goat, decapitated chickens found on shoreline by Lake Ontario

Durham Regional Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen something over the weekend that could lead them to uncover who dumped mutilated animals on the Pickering shoreline over the weekend.

The headless goat and several chickens were found Monday.

A passerby first spotted the decapitated carcasses on the Beachpoint Promenade and West Shore Boulevard area Monday morning around 10:30 a.m.

Police said the area is popular for walking, especially in the morning and a spokesman called the discovery disturbing.

Police contacted Animal Services to assist with the removal of the animals.
