Grey Cup: In Stampeders vs Argonauts giant panda places winning bet

Talk about your conflicted allegiances.

Today, the Toronto Argonauts take on the Calgary Stampeders in Canada’s biggest football prize.

And a giant panda, currently residing at the Toronto Zoo, but who will soon take up residence at the Calgary Zoo, made his pick for the 105th Grey Cup being played in Ottawa.

“We let giant panda Da Mao predict who he thinks will claim victory,” the Toronto Zoo posted on social media. “With two enrichment footballs filled with yummy treats to choose from, the football he eats from first is his winner prediction.”

Watch him make the call.

There you have it.

The Stamps are the odds on favourites and seeking redemption from last year’s loss in CFL’s big game.

So don’t worry, Da Mao, Calgary fans will forgive you if you’re wrong.

And, can’t wait to meet you, and your three other panda-mates on loan from China, in the spring.

Update: Da Mao called it. Argos win 27-24 over the Stamps on a snowy field in Ottawa.
