One great grey owl owes some great big thanks to park wardens in the Canadian Rockies.
Parks Canada staff found the big bird along a roadside in Alberta’s Jasper National Park last week.
It’s not clear how it got there, but it had suffered a head injury.
“After checking it over, it appeared to be concussed with no broken bones,” officials with Jasper National Park reported on social media.
The bird was given some time to recuperate and then was sent on its merry way back to the wild.
Applause poured in online from those happy to see the bird survived its ordeal.
Wardens also used the opportunity to remind people travelling through the park to call Jasper dispatch at 780-852-6155 if they find a sick or injured animal.
Is a tweet about an owl still a tweet, or is it a hoot? 🤔
Staff recovered a concussed great grey owl from the roadside yesterday. After some recuperation time, it was successfully released into the wild.
