Four breeds of dogs that commonly serve in America’s armed forces honored with stamps

The United States Postal Service is honoring brave and loyal military working dogs with a set of new stamps.

The booklet of 20 stamps with each block featuring one stamp of four different breeds will be sold this year.

The USPS picked drawings of four types of dogs to honor. One is a German shepherd, a Labrador retriever, a Belgian Malinois and Dutch shepherd were selected. All four breeds commonly serve in America’s armed forces.

The background of each stamp features a detail of a white star. A star appears in the center of each block. The stylized digital illustrations are in red, white, blue and gold to represent the American flag and patriotism.
