Dogs for those who have seen too much

This Dutch commercial blew us away with its message.

The ads are pretty powerful. The commercial for the Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation brings home the message that dogs are valuable companions for those with trauma and disability.

The foundation has been around since the 1950s and is the biggest guide dog organization in the Netherlands.

Seven years ago, they began training autism guide dogs for young children and deliver about 20 of these dogs every year.

They also now provide service dogs for veterans returning from combat zones.

Service dogs have been used in Canada and the United States.

In this CBC story from earlier this year, an official noted that 67 guide dogs are currently in the service of veterans. The dogs for soldiers returning home after suffering from PTSD.

More of these dogs are needed say both the Dutch organization and George Leonard, a trainer in Manitoba.
