Bear saunters into northern Alberta hotel like it’s no big deal

You really do see all kinds in the hotel business.

But this particular guest wasn’t exactly warmly welcome at one northern Alberta hotel last week.

A black bear wandered into the lobby of the Red Earth Inn around lunch time on Aug. 23. The operator of the hotel in the industrial town of Red Earth Creek stepped out for a moment, when later a server told him something waltzed into the lobby.

The security footage told the tale.

A wayward bear checked out the lobby.

Then, the vending machine. And the counter. Before taking its leave.

The hotel posted the video on Facebook and quipped:

“no resume.. no ID .. no job… no beer.”
