Baby rhino jumps for joy in best shower ever at Toronto Zoo

There might not have been singing.

But the Toronto Zoo’s greater one-horned rhino calf certainly splish-splashed as he was taking a bath.

The not-so-little newborn arrived on Jan. 4. At just four-days-old, he was exposed to water for the first time, but he wasn’t too sure what to make of the shower, zookeepers said.

A few days later, the youngster really hopped into the shower.

“Seen here on January 14th, at 11 days old, was the first time we saw him frolicking, jumping, rolling on his side and tummy, and thoroughly enjoying himself under the water spray,” the zoo said in its YouTube upload, which has been enjoyed now by more than 30,000 people.

If only we could all feel so fresh.

The not-so-little newborn is growing fast.

The species, also known as the Indian rhino, was also wiped out in the early 1900s.

But conservation efforts have bumped the species to “vulnerable” on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.

There are perhaps 3,500 left in the wild, but the species is still at risk to poachers and habitat destruction.
