Baby deer stranded on ice rescued in Finland

This is truly Bambi on Ice.

The Finnish Border Guard saved a fawn that was struggling on the ice on the Inkoo archipelago in southern Finland.

They spotted the baby deer while on patrol over the weekend. Coast Guard officer Kristian Rasted quickly jumped into action.

A colleague filmed the “helpless white-tailed deer on the slippery ice.”

There was some squawking from the wee deer.

But also some joy as the deer bounded off into the woods.

Thumbs up, indeed.

Nice work Finnish Border Guard.
