Canadian dog Bella named best female German Shepherd at Westminster Kennel Dog Show

A three year old name Bella from Chilliwack, British Columbia has been named the best female German Shepherd at the Westminster Kennel Dog Show in New York.
Bella Jun is already ranked as the Number 1 German Shepherd in Canada and was named the best female.Bella was the only dog from Metro Vancouver and one of 63 dogs from Canada among the 2,630 entries at the show this year.

Jody Duin is one of Bella’s owners along with Parker, her seven-year-old daughter, and Cortnie Partner.

In N.Y., Courtney Penner was in the ring as Bella’s professional handler.

“We’re absolutely thrilled,” Jody Duin said Sunday. “We’re so proud of Courtney and Bella. For us to walk away with this achievement is validation for all the hard work the team has put in during the past year.”

Bella returns home to Chilliwack on Tuesday. Jody Duin said she doesn’t know what the future holds for Bella.

In 2015, Miss P, a beagle from Enderby, was the first B.C.-bred dog to win Best-in-Show at Westminster.
