Almost kickoff time for the adorable, adoptable “CAT-letes” of the Feline Football League

Last month, we told you a bout the Feline Football League leading up to “Su-purr Bowl Sunday.” Well, the Hallmark Channel has now unleashed a sneak peak at what we can expect for Kitten Bowl II on Feb. 1, 2015.

“It’s too thrilling, and too cute! It’s the Kitten Bowl,” Hallmark notes in its YouTube posting. The network is not wrong.

TV Personality and North Shore Animal League America spokesperson Beth Stern will return to host the championship game along with John Sterling, radio voice of the New York Yankees, who will be the game’s play-by-play announcer. More than 90 adoptable “CAT-letes” will take part in the season.

“We are so excited to kick off the first official Feline Football League season and build upon the hugely successful Kitten Bowl franchise, which not only provides entertainment but also promotes awareness and the critical message to adopt the beautiful, loving animals available at your local shelter and not shop,” Michelle Vicary, Crown Media Family Networks executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Teams include, and pardon the puns, actually scratch that, enjoy the puns: The Good Witch Wildcats, Hallmark Channel Hearties, Countdown to Christmas Cheetahs, Cedar Cove Cougars, Northpole Panthers, HMM Mountain Lions, North Shore Bengals and Last Hope Lions.
